MEET bREGETTA

Bregetta is a dedicated and hardworking mother of two daughters, MaKaela, a student at Newark High School, and Ta-Brea, a graduate of Norfolk State University. She carries forward the legacy of her mother, Elder Mercedes Fields, who imparted a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.

Bregetta earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from Norfolk State University in 1996. In 2019, she furthered her education with a Master of Science in Health Service Administration from Strayer University.

Since her graduation in 1996, Bregetta has built a robust career in the healthcare sector. She has worked with various healthcare organizations and has been a vital member of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware (now Highmark of Delaware) for the past 20 years.

Inspired by her mother and aunt, Bregetta has always been an active participant in community gatherings, meetings, and events that promote community cohesion. They taught her the importance of building relationships and engaging in community activities to strengthen neighborhoods.

Bregetta remains committed to serving her community, family, and friends. She is eager to collaborate with community leaders throughout the 5th District to ensure that the voices of the residents are heard.

Bregetta is passionate about working with local, regional, and state organizations to create affordable housing, stimulate economic growth, enhance community awareness, and prioritize public safety, especially the removal of firearms from public spaces.

With her background in family and community engagement, Bregetta is prepared to lead the 5th District with innovative ideas. She promises to work closely and effectively with various local and state governmental bodies to drive progress and ensure a brighter future for the 5th District.
